Through Budget 2016’s commitment in the Oil and Gas Clean Tech Program we are moving ahead with a new, innovative facility in Calgary that could turn CO2 emissions into usable commercial products.
Calgary is a centre for innovation – and our commitment to diversification and growing the economy is clear with this latest $10m investment from the federal government.
Projects selected under the Oil and Gas Clean Tech Program are intended to demonstrate industry-led clean energy technologies that could later be more widely adopted across the energy sector to improve environmental performance and help reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
This project is a clear example of industry, government, and capital coming together to invest in a carbon-competitive future for Alberta. These partners include the Government of Canada ($10m); Government of Alberta ($10m); up to $5M (operating costs and in-kind) from COSIA; $143,000 (in-kind) from InnoTech Alberta; and $150,000 (in-kind) from the Shepard Energy Centre.
